To be quite frank with you, I didn't think I'd enjoy it.
Initially, I gave it a try because I very much liked how you stated that Draco wasn't going to be the typical genderbent Mary-Sue. I honestly hate it that she's so ethereally attractive. I like thinking of the possibility that no matter how beautiful Draco is as a man, he'd be amiss as a woman.
However, when I clicked through the link, I found out that it was written in first person POV. See, I'm a very strange reader wherein I don't bother going through a story once I figure out it's first person POV--yes, I'm well-aware I've missed out on quite a few good ones for being too selective but it's just the way I roll.
Somehow, I thought about the fact that I loved the Percy Jackson series to bits so I went back and read your story anyway.
Draco is so beautiful in this but I wanted to stop a few times because everything seemed so depressing. I loved and likewise, hated the fact that Draco was so complacent and so resigned to the fact that the world is being quite a bitch. It's not the Draco I'm accustomed to but I'm quite sure, if being brought in the same position, it will be the same position he will be in.
Harry was just horrible and I virtually wanted to stab him.
When I came to the next chapter, I almost stopped reading once again since I really, really hate having to go through the same story written in two POVs. It reminded me too much of harlequin novels but I figured, I went this far, liked the first part, why not give this one a try?
So I did and it made me understand Harry a little but it didn't exactly make me like him. He continued to irritate me because, for someone who was previously very concerned with everything else, he turned the polar opposite and decided to be insensitive towards everything outwardly. What I dislike about him more is that, he isn't really insensitive inwardly, which makes him pretty much a coward for not being able to man up to whatever he is feeling.
But I'm glad for having gone through the second chapter as it highlighted parts we aren't able to see with Draco's POV--perspective-wise and plot-wise.
So I'm very intrigued and could not stop thinking about this entire thing since I've read it last night. I know it's strange to leave a review here but I read it offline yesterday.
